I saw these earlier while browsing Banggood and wonder if they make good lights for in the top of the frame of a delta, there's nothing more my old eyes love than good lighting

I like how simple it would be to instal them and replace when needed rather than sticking those strips all around the place, what do we think worth a punt

very easy actually, I used the exact same one in the past (still have one of them in my printer parts draw).

there actually better suited for deltas, you just need to pick up from a 12v feed somewhere (I just ran a 12v live direct from my power supply rather than risk stressing any feeds off the control board or printer)

I made a mount for mine on my prusa's carriage but they work fine just stuck on with some 3m carbody trim foam tape (doesnt give out from bed heat like most stuff does)

personally though Id suggest using some COB led daylight running lights, they give off a much better even light than smd led strips (cleaner appearance too) and dont near blind you if you accidentally catch glare from them.

I use these with my enclosed Geeetech....

they barely produce any heat, are more energy efficient and come encased in a nice aluminium box strip that looks nice and tidy

You can also get the roll ones that are self adhesive you just cut to length you want stick them on and wire to 12V or put 2 bits in series for 24V

Yeah no what you mean but did you know that with the Duet controllers you can have RGB Led strips change colour on certain configurable triggers for eample during warm up of the heaters you could have them red change to white when printing and then to green on completion.

Your package is ready for the PO tomorrow as well

I can live with that and on a cartesian style printer there isn't the same need but on a CoreXY or Delta or even a scara then they really do come into there own.

I used to use this sort of thing on my old Fisher. So quick and easy to integrate and makes such a difference!

I kinda found that when used in an enclosure with printer running and leds powered (producing the little heat they do) the backing tape would give up quite quickly on the strips too (you can see I had to slap a couple of bits of Kapton tape on mine when they started sagging all over the place from the heat)

doubt its be an issue in a non-enclosed format but otherwise its a pain, its why I started using car foam double sided trim tape, less susceptible to heat ~~

I'll take some photos of what I built for my CR-10 when I get home.
When I've built the enclosure though all the lighting will be fitted to that instead.
